Nine minutes on the charger and an hour and a half of work again. These are the characteristics claimed for the new robot Digit 5. Agility Robotics presented it on September 15: it is a humanoid robot for warehouses and production.
What is claimed
- payload up to 22.7 kg, 40% more than the previous version;
- height 181 cm, weight 129 kg;
- interchangeable grippers for different tasks: for example, carrying containers or working at a machine;
- the maximum height the robot reaches is 2.2 m;
- fast charging: 9 minutes give about an hour and a half of work.

Safety around people
Sensors track people nearby. If a person gets too close, the robot can stop or take a seated position. Working together with people without fences is the main task for which Agility builds Digit.

Timing and caveats
According to the manufacturer's calculations, fast charging will allow working more than 20 hours a day. Early access is planned for the first half of 2027, general availability for the end of 2027. The announcement does not name a price.
All specifications are the manufacturer's claims. Working at a machine is a planned capability, not an independently verified use, and some of the company's materials are illustrative.

Why this matters
Warehouses and factories are the first market where humanoids can pay off: tasks repeat, premises are well defined and the shortage of workers is real. For such scenarios what matters is not jumps and flips but uptime, safety around people and cost of ownership. Digit 5 targets exactly that.
