On September 16, UBTECH, through its consumer brand UWORLD, began delivering the first production U1 series robots to customers in China. The lineup was officially unveiled on June 30 in Shenzhen, with pre-orders on JD.com opening June 2 with a 3,000 yuan deposit. According to the company, total orders reached 13,361 units by launch day.
The series includes three models. U1 Lite is a half-body version (head and torso) for 119,800 yuan. U1 Pro is a full-size robot for 169,800 yuan. U1 Ultra is a 'high-dynamic' full-size model: the male version costs 990,000 yuan, the female 880,000. Full-size versions are available in 183 cm and 168 cm heights.
UBTECH claims 88 degrees of freedom, a proprietary bionic neck with two axes of rotation, and up to 90% replication of basic human movements. The face and skin are made of silicone with detailed pores. The emotional language model, according to the company, recognizes over 20 emotional states with over 90% accuracy, with a fast response loop of 500 ms and speech-lip sync within 20 ms.
The manufacturer positions U1 as a companion, not a home assistant: the robot doesn't clean or cook. It's sold only to adults with ID verification; interaction data is encrypted and stored locally, with no mandatory cloud upload. Commercial scenarios include reception and hotel service, elderly care, exhibitions, and education.
For scale: in all of 2025, UBTECH sold 1,079 industrial humanoids, so U1 pre-orders are over 12 times higher. Production capacity for the new series in 2026 is estimated at 50,000 units.
This is the first time full-size humanoids are being delivered to private buyers by the thousands, not as one-offs. The first months of operation—battery life, joint reliability, and service quality—will show how sustainable demand is. Deliveries are currently limited to China; UBTECH has not announced international sales terms.
