Mondo Robotics unveils Beni — a two-wheeled camera robot. Its sole purpose: follow you and film. No drone, no tripod, no cameraman needed.
According to the manufacturer, Beni reaches speeds up to 28.8 km/h, jumps over obstacles up to 25 cm high, and gets up on its own after a fall. It automatically avoids small obstacles. The robot weighs 1.75 kg and measures 21.5 × 18 × 18 cm.
The camera shoots 4K at 30 fps, 3K at 60 fps, and Full HD at 100 fps — perfect for slow motion. Field of view: 155°. Image stabilization combines a mechanical gimbal and electronic stabilization, which the company calls HybridFlow 3.0.
The robot’s neural network is trained to recognize people and dogs — it follows them. For manual control, there’s a wrist tracker. Beni automatically creates a short highlight reel from the footage.
One battery lasts about 1.5 hours. Batteries swap quickly: with two spares, you can film for over 4.5 hours. Beni works both indoors and outdoors, but cannot be submerged in water.
Basic kit — robot, battery, wrist tracker, protective plate, and wheels — is $599 (regular price $799). The extended kit, with three batteries and extra accessories, is $649. Manufacturer promises deliveries starting November 2026, with a 12-month body warranty.
Who needs this. The most obvious buyers: parents wanting to film their kids at play, outdoor sports enthusiasts — skateboarding, running, tennis, cycling — and dog owners. Another audience: bloggers who currently need a cameraman for every shoot. The open question: how will the robot perform in real life — in crowds, on uneven ground, in low light? We’ll find out when the first customers receive their devices in November.
