DOBOT announced that its heavy-duty collaborative robots of the CR 30H series comply with the cybersecurity requirements of ISO 10218-1:2025. This is the latest edition of the main international safety standard for industrial robots. Compliance was confirmed by independent SGS verification.
Cybersecurity requirements appeared in ISO 10218-1 for the first time in the 2025 edition. The reason: robots are increasingly connected to factory networks, production management systems, and corporate platforms. For the CR 30H, threat modeling and risk assessment, access control and authentication, secure communication channels, settings and interfaces, safe software updates, and port protection were all verified.
CR 30H is DOBOT’s flagship heavy-duty series: 30 kg payload, 1,800 mm reach, and joint speeds up to 300°/s. They’re used for palletizing, machine tending, material handling, and other heavy-duty operations in automotive, electronics, metalworking, healthcare, and logistics. The series comes in three versions: standard, CR 30HT with joint torque sensors, and the food-grade CR 30H-Food-Grade.
DOBOT representative Xie Junjie called cybersecurity a fundamental requirement for robots entering high-tech manufacturing worldwide. The company worked with SGS throughout the entire verification process.
For buyers, this is primarily about documentation. When a collaborative robot is placed near people, occupational safety and IT security teams increasingly request confirmation to the new standard. If it’s available in advance, approval is faster. The certification covers the manipulator itself, so risk assessment for a specific cell with gripper and guarding must still be done separately by the integrator.
