About the model

KUKA LBR iisy is a family of six-axis cobots from 3–15 kg with a reach of 760–1300 mm. KUKA calls it an 'industrial cobot': it uses industrial robot mechanics with collaborative-level controls. The same robot is suitable for working alongside humans, hybrid stations, and classic automation.

Each axis features a torque sensor. This enables manual guidance, force-controlled operations, and stops the robot on contact. All models are managed by the KR C5 micro-2 controller with iiQKA.OS2 — the same system as KUKA's industrial robots. Offline programming and virtual commissioning are done in iiQWorks.
